Welcome to the Arizona Health Workforce Profile Report
This project is led by the Arizona Center for Rural Health. The purpose of the report is to provide supply estimates of licensed health professionals in Arizona. This project is supported with funding from the Arizona Area Health Education Center. We want to thank the Arizona Area Health Education Center for their continued support and the licensing boards for their partnership and responsiveness to data requests.
About the Health Workforce Data
The data on health professionals is from the Arizona licensing boards public record mailing list files. The three snapshots of data included in the 2025 report were requested in 2019-2020, 2021-2022, and 2023-2024. Summary data is represented as counts and ratios at relevant geographic levels e.g., state, county. Population data from the U.S. Census is used to create provider to population ratios. Due to variability in the completeness of address information, counts of health professionals at the state and sub-state levels may not match and some professional groups may not be available at every geographic level.
This report includes health workforce professionals with an active license and who have a public record address in Arizona. However, these elements do not provide information on if the worker is actively in a clinical practice providing healthcare services. New health professional types are added to each snapshot. Use the “profession filter” drop-down menu to view these professions on their own or add them to the overall calculation.
